Mission

The mission of the Saint Louis Regional Chapter of the Association for Women in Science is to promote a positive environment for women in the larger scientific community through education, advocacy, and outreach. We work to increase the available mentoring and networking resources for women at all stages of their scientific careers by sponsoring workshops and by holding social gatherings for AWIS members. We also work to improve the perception of women within the scientific community by increasing recognition for the accomplishments of female scientists. Available as word file for download here.

AWIS, and AWIS events, is open to all women and men of the St. Louis scientific community concerned with promoting a positive environment for women in the larger scientific community, at all levels of scientific training, in all manners of scientific pursuit.

New! Help AWIS St. Louis while you shop!

Schnucks and other regional grocieries stores will make a donation on your behalf (free to you) with the escrip program.

We have joined the escrip program, which coordinates with local groceries stores such as Schnucks and Safeway to make a donation on your behalf when you shop there. Pick up a community card at the Schnucks service counter and register it online. Select AWIS (group number 500023536) as the group you would like to support. Show your card when you checkout at Schnucks and a small percentage of what you spend at these stores will be donated to AWIS to help support our programs. You can also register other cards such as macy's cards and credit cards (and relatives/friends grocery cards in other states). Please see this page for more information. We would love to have your help, so thanks in advance.

See our Past Events page for more information about this activity. Find out how you can get involved by reading this document about the activities offered! Please contact our president below if you would like to get on a volunteer list.
